New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad Adlake

This lantern was made for the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad, around 1897. From what I’ve been told, this model of lantern was made by Adlake exclusively for the NYNH&H. Originally this lantern would have had an extended base globe, but mine has a red cast Corning globe.

I’ve always admired this railroad, especially their 1950s McGinnis paint scheme (even if McGinnis basically destroyed the railroad). So when the opportunity to pick this lantern came up, I did.
